Are you looking for a meaningful way to give back to the Town of Evans community? The Boys & Girls Club of Lake Shore is looking for reliable, friendly faces to help operate our front desk!

Our front desk is the heart of the club—it’s where we keep our environment safe, organized, and welcoming for our amazing kids and families.

What you’ll be doing:

Welcoming Kids: Checking club members in and out as they arrive and leave via our online member tracking system
Keeping Us Safe: Operating our secure building entry system.
Helping Out: Handing out flyers and information to parents and members. As well as answering any questions they may have.
Setting the Tone: Helping maintain our policies and procedures for members in the halls which allows everyone to stay safe and for operations to run smoothly.

The Details:

🗓️ When: Monday through Friday, between 2:30 PM – 5:30 PM.
🧩 Flexibility: Whether you can commit to one afternoon a week or a few hours whenever you have free time, we welcome whatever schedule works for you!
📍 Where: William T. Hoag Building
👥 Who: Perfect for retirees, college students, or anyone looking to support local youth.

By giving just a few hours of your time, you’re helping us provide a safe, positive place for local kids to learn and grow.

Join Our Volunteering

The Club gratefully accepts volunteers to help with fundraising events and committees throughout the year. The Boys & Girls Club of Lake Shore is a great place to give your time to help the youth in your community.

All volunteers must be at least 18 years of age. Exceptions can be made to meet high school community service requirements. Volunteers are accepted through the courts for community service.

Any person who wishes to volunteer their time must first contact Anna at anna@bgcedenlakeshore.org to determine what will work best for both the volunteer and the Boys & Girls Club of Lake Shore.

Volunteers that spend time with our members and have a long term relationship with the Boys & Girls Club of Lake Shore will have extensive background checks conducted. Pre screening of applicants includes, but not limited to reference checks and clearance through the NYS Central Register of Child Abuse & Maltreatment.
