Site Director - Eden

The Boys & Girls Club of Eden - Lake Shore is looking for part-time Site Director. This rewarding part-time position leads, manages, directs, and monitors overall daily functions of a Club with primary concern for program and service delivery/outcomes. He/she will be responsible for programming, training, developing, and retaining youth counselors.

Qualified professionals:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Enjoy working with kids grades K-12
  • Are flexible and able to work with a variety of programs and age groups.
  • Able to lead a team of youth counselors
  • Are open to training and professional development.
  • Are able to work Monday – Friday between 12:00 PM and 6:00 PM (school year)
  • Are able to work various summer hours from 7am - 6pm

KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):

Club Leadership:

  • Communicates, implements, and enforces the organization’s operational policies and procedures. Evaluates opportunities to improve Club operations; design and communicate strategies to implement improvements.
  • Plans for and ensures the environment, programs, and services prepare youth for success. Ensures programs delivered result in desired outcomes.
  • Seeks optimum use of Club facilities; maintains a safe and welcoming atmosphere.
  • Handles crisis situations and takes action to resolve conflicts, disputes, and/or concerns of leaders, Club members, volunteers, and parents.

Demonstrates an ability to describe, and interpret program evaluation methods, and creates action plans based on results.

Club Programs & Services:

  • Ensures designated and daily year-round programs are delivered in an organized and engaging manner.  
  • Ensure programs meet stated objectives, member needs, and interests. 

Monitors club programs and collaborates with leaders to plan and implement improvements. Ensures Club’s special events and field trips are properly planned and supervised.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • Associates Degree or equivalent training with some experience in working with children.  Bachelor’s degree preferred  
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Club leaders, volunteers, and community groups. 
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Demonstrated organizational, staff and project management abilities
  • Working knowledge of computers and being adept at utilizing technology as a tool for completing work. Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Platforms.
  • Salesforce experience a plus
  • CPR and First Aid Certification (will provide training if needed)
  • Valid Driver's License

Ability to get along with diverse personalities, tactful, mature and flexible. Good reasoning abilities and sound judgment.

Youth Counselor - Eden  & Lake Shore Clubhouses

(multiple positions available)

The Boys & Girls Club of Eden - Lake Shore is looking for part-time After School and Summer Youth Counselors. This rewarding part-time position delivers nationally recognized programs that change the lives of youth in our community. In this position candidates will plan, implement, and supervise programs dedicated to four core areas of focus; Character & Leadership, Academic Success, Healthy lifestyles and The Arts.

Qualified professionals:

  • Enjoy working with kids grades 1-12
  • Have a basic understanding of youth development philosophies
  • Are flexible and able to work with a variety of programs and age groups
  • Are open to training and professional development
  • Are able to work Monday – Friday  2pm - 6pm or after school - 6pm

KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):

Prepare Youth for Success

  • Be a strong role model and foster respectful, impactful relationships
  • Promote and stimulate participation in club programming
  • Create an environment that facilitates youth development outcomes

Program Development and Implementation

  • Effectively implement programs, services and activities for members
  • Monitor and evaluate program and services to ensure quality and safety
  • Create and deliver new programs and activities as able

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • Ability to establish rapport and build meaningful relationships with adults and youth
  • Ability to organize activities and supervise members in a safe environment
  • Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior

GROUP TEACHERS

Group teachers work with the Site Supervisor to ensure the daily operation of their assigned group. Group Leaders will be responsible for supervision and care of children. They will be responsible for leading their group in daily activities, snack, and homework help.

QUALFIED PROFESSIONALS:

  • Associates degree in early childhood/child development or related field 
  • Child development associates credential and one year experience related to caring for children  
  • or 9 college credits in child development and 2 years of experiencing in relating for caring for children
